Old-fashioned steakhouse follows only two trends: excellent beef and
stellar service.
The
Scene
Christy's is known as much for its power clientele as its aged Midwestern
beef. The three cozy dining rooms are studies in rich reds and dark wood,
presided over by the suave vocal stylings of Ol' Blue Eyes. It's also
one of the few restaurants in late-eating south Florida to fill up by
8pm.
The
Food
You could order chicken or veal or lobster, but with beef this good,
why? The thick slab of prime rib is rosy-rare, juicy and savory. The
massive porterhouse is a carnivore's delight, the filet almost as flavorful
as the sirloin, the sirloin almost as tender as the filet. Entrees come
with a fine Caesar salad, but treat yourself to classic oysters Rockefeller--six
succulent bivalves under a mantle of molten cheese. For dessert? Baked
Alaska for two, flamed tableside
