Pearl Restaurant and Champagne Lounge combines
the chic ambiance of Miami nightlife with a
sophisticated dining experience. From celebrities
to business tycoons and socialites, Pearl pleases
its crowd with a selection of exquisite
champagnes, a unique menu, and seashell inspired
décor. As the latest Fresh International
Rhythms are played in the background, and an
amber-hued glow creates an unparalleled atmosphere,
Pearl Restaurant and Champagne Lounge is the
perfect compliment to the casual, beach chic
style of it’s
counterpart—Nikki Beach.
You can never be too rich, too thin or too self-consciously
hip to make the scene here.
The
Scene
The ambience of this furiously trendy restaurant/nightclub makes wretched
excess a study in abject modesty. Imagine a large, low-ceilinged room
done entirely in orange and white, with polka-dot tables, a wall of bubbling
water, eerie purple lighting and champagne bar surrounded by chairs that
resemble giant, mutant Martian seashells. Late nights, Pearl becomes
prime territory for the local beautiful people, who dance cheek to chic
until the wee hours. Service is tinged by South Beach's infamous 'tude
and isn't terribly competent either.
The
Food
If the cuisine here isn't quite as exciting as the decor, who's going
to notice? Starters of fire-roasted shrimp with poblano chili syrup and
tuna tartare-mango-tobiko "parfait" are better than day boat
scallops with salty saffron risotto and bland vanilla-lime vinaigrette.
Sushi is also on the menu. Fancifully named Duck, Duck, Goose and chocolate-banana
bread pudding read more interesting than they taste
