This elegant little northern Italian restaurant lets you design your
own six-course feast.
The
Scene
A silk purse among sow's ears on a modest strip of Coral Way, Romeo Majana's
handsome restaurant is an intensely personal statement. The inventive
northern Italian cuisine, impeccable service and "have it your way" philosophy
make dining here an unforgettable experience. There is no menu. Instead,
Majana asks what you want, tells you what he has, and then creates your
very own six-course meal. At about $50 per person, it's a tremendous
bargain.
The
Food
You might begin with delicate salmon carpaccio or lusty braesola, thin
slices of air-dried beef, then go on to hand-made agnolotti with silken
four-cheese sauce or Alfredo-style fettuccine with shellfish. Seafood
can be elementary (grouper with melting leeks and tomatoes) or more adventurous
(mahi-mahi with balsamic sauce and sesame-dressed greens). Meats might
include tender ostrich paillard with shiitake mushrooms or goat cheese
stuffed chicken in creamy mustard sauce
