Plush and posh, this Gables bar offers upscale service and entertainment
without the attitude.
The
Skinny
Nestled alongside Giacosa, one of Coral Gables' see-and-be-scenes for
Hispanic professionals young and old, The Red Room offers old-school
entertainment with a Latin flair. Dark and a bit louder than it may need
to be, this cozy bar is packed with comfy banquettes and intimate candlelit
tables. Live music Thursday through Saturday nights keeps hips shaking,
while an excellent bar staff keeps drinks coming. Paye, playing on Friday
nights, offers an especially good show, with Gypsy Kings-esque grooves
broken up by the salsafied DJ that spins between sets. The long shiny
bar is particularly good for Happy Hour, which runs from 5pm to 8pm Wednesday
through Friday.
The
Crowd
Pretty evenly divided between young Hispanic professionals that eschew
the meet-market vibe at The Globe and well-dressed couples in their 50s
looking to cut a rug. The one constant: everyone is looking to have a
good time
